Windows 10 Anniversary Edition Update can Break Sage

Microsoft has recently released an update to Windows 10 which some Sage users reported has stopped them logging in to Sage 50 Accounts.

When users try to log in to Sage, they may get an error message such as ‘You have entered an invalid password’ or ‘Unable to register data source’.

The Windows update, called the Anniversary Edition, has affected part of Windows called .NET Framework 3.5. The Sage website Help Centre provides assistance to enable users to carry on using the accounts package.

Other software packages also use .NET Framework 3.5 so Sage most likely will not be alone with this problem.
