Thankfully, most PCs now support multi-screen setups as standard so rarely need to be upgraded with a dedicated graphics card.
Compared with a 17” 720p monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a 24” 1080p monitor with a 16:9 (widescreen) ratio will allow you to fit multiple Windows onto your screen, instead of having to minimise and maximise them constantly. Furthermore, if you added another 24” monitor, you can have even more windows open at the same time. This enables you to finish what you are working on much quicker than with your old monitor. You could even have a Skype conference on one screen and Outlook on the other. The possibilities are endless.
Larger monitors and multi-screen setups work very well with Windows 10. The operating system allows individual application windows to be ‘snapped’ to the four corners of your screen, avoiding the need to constantly switch between screens.
Many PCs have multiple display outputs which will normally be either VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI or DVI. Windows 10 happily works with two displays with no in-depth setup being required. Simply plug them in and enjoy the benefits.
